Join attorneys John Rukavina and Alisa Arnoff as they discuss the Pregnant Worker Fairness Act and its impact on the fire department.

The Beltane Guild

We are firefighters, for firefighters

Research shows that firefighters have a higher risk of infertility due to hazardous exposures, heat, stress, and irregular sleep patterns.

The Beltane Guild is working in collaboration with firefighters and researchers from across the country to raise awareness, improve safety measures, and re-write policy to protect our nation’s firefighters.

Check out a list of current pregnancy policies from across the fire service on our website.

Reproductive Health

Women in Fire (WIF) has partnered with the Center for Fire, Rescue, & EMS Health Research (CFREHR), part of NDRI-USA, on a FEMA-funded project focused on the development and dissemination of women’s health educational content for the fire service. The CFREHR and WIF has convened an expert panel of occupational health providers, researchers, and key fire service personnel to summarize documents and current research related to reproductive health, pregnancy, and breast feeding. The panel is working to develop and disseminate infographics and other educational materials related to reproductive health for the fire service. You'll find some of our developed content below, more to come!

An interactive non-profit network, Women in Fire provides education, support, and advocacy for fire service women.
